Please note that this is a fixed-term, part-time contract valid until 16 October 2026. As the Centurion campus is a contact-learning environment, the successful candidate must be available to start immediately.

 

Key roles and responsibilities:

• Lecture and assess contact learning in the BEd (Foundation Phase Teaching) programme in the following modules:

                   o   Setswana Home Language 1

                   o   Setswana First Additional Language 1

• Use a learning management system independently and/or work collaboratively to develop and deliver modules.
• Participate in relevant programme, curriculum and material development.
• Provide academic support to students.
• Complete all quality assurance requirements related to the modules and programmes.
• Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management.
• Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with all policies and SOPs.
• Participate in and attend meetings and workshops.
• Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.

Qualifications and experience | minimum requirements:

• Minimum bachelor of education honours or equivalent qualification with relevant study in Setswana.
• At least 3 years of teaching and/or lecturing experience in Setswana at Home Language level.
• A teaching qualification will be an advantage
• Experience in curriculum and materials development.
• Experience in online and blended teaching and learning environments.

• Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
• High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.

• Ability to cope with change.
