Lead Developer

Job description

We are looking for a leader. 

Someone who understands our stack, writes beautiful code, and can work with others to also write beautiful code whilst achieving the development objectives.

We have two amazing products now that are in constant need of development and implementation plus more in the pipeline we want to get too.

You will report to the Divisional Director for Developments and have a team of developers and testers working in an agile environment. Quazar is not just a software development house we have a Digital Division producing complex websites, we have a Graphic Design studio that builds brands, motion graphics and marketing communications.

Everything we need to create great products is in-house we just need someone to make the implementation happen.

Ours Stack:

• Angular
• .Net Core (C#)
• MySQL and Entity Framework
• JavaScript
• Bitbucket

Knowledge of the following would be useful but not critical:

• PHP
• AWS EC2
• Linux Server
• Windows Server

We use Atlassian products to test and to run sprints and communicate. We record our time and we analyse how we are doing. 

The suitable candidate is the one who holds their head up when it gets tough, rallies the troops and finds the solution to the problem. If all you want to do is write code, then this is not for you.

Location: preference will be given to someone who lives in Cape Town, but you must live in South Africa as a minimum.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Lead Developer, Technical Lead, or similar senior role.
• Strong programming expertise in(or the ability and willingness to quickly adapt to):
• Angular
• PHP
• .NET C#
• MySQL
• JavaScript
• CSS
• HTML
• Solid understanding of application architecture, design patterns, and scalable system design.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and guiding junior developers.
• Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with deployment processes across AWS, IIS, and Linux environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  Nice-to-have
  
  • Exposure to cloud-based architectures and AWS ecosystem (light knowledge acceptable).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (not required but advantageous).
  • Experience in financial or enterprise systems development.
