Production Planner

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our print and packaging operations team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing workflow across departments, and ensuring customer orders are delivered on time and to specification.

This role requires strong planning ability, excellent communication skills, and experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally in printing, packaging and cartons.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules
• Coordinate workflow between prepress, printing, finishing, and dispatch  departments
• Monitor machine capacity, labor availability, and production timelines
• Prioritize jobs to meet customer deadlines and optimize production efficiency
• Liaise with sales, procurement, warehouse, and production teams regarding job status and material availability
• Ensure accurate job tracking and production reporting within MIS systems
• Identify scheduling conflicts and implement corrective actions
• Monitor stock levels of raw materials and work with procurement to avoid shortages
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and waste
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards

Skills required

• 5+ years experience in production planning within the print or packaging industry
• Strong understanding of printing and converting processes
• Experience with MIS, or production planning software
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred qualifications

• Diploma or degree in production management
• Experience in litho, flexographic, digital print, cartons, packaging
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing
