ROLE PURPOSE

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Head Financial Accountant with processing of daily transactions and bank reconciliations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND WORK OUTPUTS

• Assisting with processing of daily transactions and bank reconciliations.
• Capturing of daily supplier invoices.
• Reconciling supplier invoices to S2S system.

• Assisting with other daily reconciliations.
• Assisting with the preparation of month-end accounts.

• Examining financial records to check for accuracy.
• Capturing of debtor invoices and reconciliations
• Following up of outstanding debtors and assisting with debtor related queries
• Daily, Monthly. Quarterly and Annually reporting.
• Optimising and improving processes and the overall approach where necessary.

Requirements

• BCom Financial Accounting or similar Accounting degree – essential.
• 5+ years’ experience – essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products and Advanced Computer literacy skills.

• Knowledge of South Africa tax legislation, understanding of financial controls.

• Experience with Xero accounting system – essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills - Afrikaans and English essential.
• Working experience within retail / Fintech environment – ideal.
• Willingness to work remotely / in Stellenbosch offices.
• Driver’s licence and own reliable transport - essential.
• South African citizen.
