Senior Professional Officer: Financial Analyst

• A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification Degree or equivalent, preferably a Financial Degree
• Five (5) to eight (8) years’ relevant industry experience including three (3) years supervisory experience
• Knowledge of relevant City policies, processes and procedures
• Computer literacy: Proficiency in MS Office, SAP ERP experience, Advance Excel

• Oversee planning, execution and presentation of ERP-support analysis of complex financial matters within the IS&T Department
• Analyse spending patterns, budget trends and projections per cost centre, General Ledger accounts and per period 
• Analyse finances and present financial statements for tender steering committees and associated contract government purposes
• Ensure analysis of asset values for capital replacement programs
• Compose and contribute to financial management solutions towards complex matters and ensure execution of the IS&T Departments strategies, operations and innovations
• Compile and submit financial management reports for the IS&T department
• Ensure completion and monitoring of Percentage Expenditure (PCER) and Project Protofolio Management (PPM) comments
• Lead the annual budgeting process (Opex, Capex and Secondary budget) and support ERP-based budget management, monitoring and oversight through the financial year
• Provide expert advice and solutions to ad hoc matters related to the financial management portfolio for the IS&T Department
• Provide inputs for the annual Financial Statements
• Compile and submit monthly financial management reports for the IS&T department
• Compile RFI’s for the auditors.
