Senior DTP Operator

Our client, a leading name in the print and packaging industry, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior DTP Operator to join their dynamic pre-press team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and takes pride in delivering pixel-perfect, print-ready artwork.

The successful candidate will report to the commercial and packaging pre-press manager and must be able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and pre-flight client-supplied artwork, ensuring all files are print-ready and meet production specifications.
  

• Generate high-resolution, print-ready PDFs using Adobe Creative Suite / Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  

• Output files accurately to proofing and CTP systems while maintaining quality and colour standards.
  

• Ensure file integrity, structure, and content are of the highest quality across all production outputs.
  

• Collaborate closely with colleagues in pre-press and production to meet tight deadlines and client expectations.
  

• Assist and mentor junior team members where required to enhance the department’s overall skill level.
  

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising effectively in a busy production workflow.
  

Requirements

• 5–10 years’ experience in a similar role within the print and packaging industry (packaging experience essential).
  

• Experience with Heidelberg software (Prinect etc)

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite / CC (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  

• Solid understanding of print production processes, colour management, and pre-press standards.
  

• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and ensure consistent quality control.
  

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  

• Flexible and willing to work overtime when required to meet deadlines.
  

• Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  

• Passionate about precision, accuracy, and visual excellence.
