“It is frightening what this Covid-19 is really capable of. I have spoken to many of contacts and teams abroad – and we are all in some form of lockdown – and agree that the safest thing is to keep at home and out of trouble. Please guys – be careful,” says AJ Venter. Wise words from a man who competes in what is considered the most dangerous road race, the Isle of Man TT and various other superbike events across the world. As a Dunlop brand ambassador, Venter races on Dunlop both locally and abroad. He is currently the 2020 Monocle Superbike Series leading champion by 23 points. “At our last local SA event, out of the six classes competing on the day, four of those classes were won by competitors using Dunlop.”
Along with his father, Venter runs a motorcycle racing shop, Lekka Racing, specialising in building and preparing all types of superbikes, off-road bikes and track bikes, and a riding school where his passion is to teach people of all ages to ride safely.
