SABC obtains 2018 FIFA World Cup broadcast rights
SABC Sport has been awarded the broadcasting rights for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and all additional FIFA events from 2017 until 2018. The rights consist of exclusive terrestrial television rights, radio rights, certain mobile transmission rights, and broadband transmission rights for the South African territory.
The additional FIFA events include the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, which South Africa has qualified for, the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017, FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017, FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Bahamas 2017, FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Uruguay 2018 and the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup France 2018.
