Mbuso Magubane is a talented young artist from Umlazi who started singing at the very young age with the aim of establishing himself as a well-known singer. Having come from a Christian background, Mbuso used a church as a platform to develop himself and to nurture his singing skills in order to establish himself as professional artist
Mbuso was born at Umlazi, one of the largest townships in South Africa and one of the townships that is known for having brought out so much talent into the South African art industry. From a church that has nurtured successful gospel musician, the likes of Mthunzi Namba, Lindelani Mkhize, Khaya Mthwethwa and Ntokozo Mbambo, Umlazi Oasis was a great platform for him as a musician to start off his career and this also became an opportunity and a platform for Mbuso to show case his abilities on stage as a performer.
As an artist who was still experiencing and experimenting music, Mbuso got involved with great number of artists around the township of which enabled him unto developing his music skills much more. At the age of 9 when he was still in primary school he always told his friends and his musical teacher that he was to become a well-known singer in the years to come
Mbuso has worked with so many respected and well-established artists mainly as a backing singer for such artists. Such artists includes the well-known Mthunzi Namba who has been cited as a "Quincy Jones" of South Africa because of the contribution he has made in South African music industry. He has also worked with Andile Ka Majola, Khaya Mthethwa (Joyous Celebration & 2012 South African Idols winner), Musa Njoko, and many more.
Debut Project
His debut project has been described as experiments of musical sounds, with a great number of genres combined into one to create a gospel sound that is rich with what is being listened and played on radio secular programs on secular radio shows. His experiences is being heard throughout his newly packaged & highly anticipated debut gospel project of which gives his project an understanding that all this time as a musician he was still developing his skills and packaging himself as the new sound in the African gospel music, in order to create a project that will sound the way he wanted it to sound.
His non-stereotype approach in music has enabled him to manipulate his sound in a way he wants it to be, he has also incorporated his background influences of traditional gospel music that he grew up listening to with different music styles of today.
To create this project Mbuso worked with less known producer that had the same vision with what he intended to do. Ernie Colvelle is one of the upcoming music producers with a lot of background experiences that he got from producing background artists.
