Data Scientist

A rapidly growing, internationally focused company is broadening its suite of solutions within the supplier sector, customer risk, and third-party risk management. To support this growth, we are seeking a highly capable Senior Data Scientist to take full ownership of the end-to-end data and modelling lifecycle, delivering production-grade, business-critical solutions.

This is a high-impact role suited to a technically strong, hands-on data professional who thrives in ownership, leadership, and solution delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with external specialists and internal business partners to enhance technical delivery where required.
• Develop and optimise robust, scalable data pipelines that enable advanced analytics and machine learning processes.
• Design, train, implement, and continuously monitor statistical and machine learning models to ensure they are production-ready and reliable.
• Convert complex analytical findings into clear, practical recommendations aligned with strategic business goals.
• Conduct sophisticated data preprocessing and feature engineering, managing missing values, outliers, and intricate data transformations.
• Assess and validate model effectiveness using appropriate evaluation metrics and methodologies specific to each use case.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, data science, computer science, statistics, or another quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a data science or data engineering role, preferably within fintech, banking, or risk management.
• Advanced machine learning techniques applied in financial technology environments.
• Natural language processing (NLP) for both structured and unstructured datasets.
• Financial modelling, including value at risk (VaR) and related metrics.
• Dimensional data modelling, including slowly changing dimensions (SCDs), fact tables, and star/snowflake schemas.
• Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and machine learning methodologies applied to production-grade solutions.
