Boilermaker

Our client in the industrial services sector is seeking a skilled Boilermaker to join their workshop team in Kempton Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and repair of metal components and structures, particularly pressure vessels, tanks, and piping systems. Must be able to interpret technical drawings and work to precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and technical plans.
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to specifications.
• Cut, shape, and weld steel and other metals using a variety of tools.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs on existing plant equipment, tanks, and pipelines.
• Perform inspections to ensure structural integrity and quality.
• Operate manual and power tools including grinders, plasma cutters, and welding equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and wear protective gear at all times.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Complete job cards and daily reports as required.
• Collaborate with fitters, welders, and supervisors to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications and skills:
Qualifications:

• Trade tested boilermaker (red seal preferred)
• Matric or equivalent

Skills:

• Proficient in ARC, MIG, and TIG welding
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Precision measuring and layout skills
• Familiarity with welding codes and standards
• Good physical strength and stamina

Experience:

• Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience as a boilermaker in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Experience working with pressure vessels, tanks, and piping systems is advantageous
