
Dr Thulani Dlamini is the CSIR's new CEO
The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research or CSIR has named Dr Thulani Dlamini as its new chief executive officer. Dlamini had formerly worked at the CSIR as the head of the CSIR National Laser Centre and as the group executive for research and development.
After leaving the CSIR in 2011, Dlamini joined Sasol to work as its executive manager: research and development which eventually led to the position of vice president for strategic research and technology. Dlamini holds a PhD in chemistry from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and a master's in business leadership from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
