Blog awards judges announced

Without any fanfare, the celebrity non-blogging and international blogger judge panels for the 2008 South African Blog Awards were made public yesterday, Wednesday, 12 March 2008, to the relief and acclaim of South African bloggers. The celebrity non-blogging judges are: Laurence Mitchell, commissioner of the Cape Film Commission; Andrew Boraine, executive chairman of the Cape Town Partnership; Dave Murrey of Clickthinking; Mike Pearson of FoxP2, Porky Hefer of Animal Farm; and John Maytham of 567 CapeTalk. The international blogger judges are: Josh Spear of Joshspear.com; Marcus Fairs of Dezeen.com; Andrew Zolli, curator of Pop!Tech; Dan of Innocent drinks; Brendan T Lynch of nvohk; and, a real coup, Marshall Kirkpatrick of ReadWriteWeb.
