DevOps Engineer

We don’t want “hold your breath” deployments, we want boring, repeatable, automated releases, multiple times a day.


Softsure is modernising a 15-year-old platform into a cloud-native, API-first ecosystem. This role sits at the centre of that transformation, building the pipelines, automation, and tooling that allow every engineer to ship faster and safer.


What You’ll Do


You’ll design, build, and own the DevOps and CI/CD platform:

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions

• Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)

• Automate environment provisioning for fast, self-service development

• Integrate security scanning into pipelines (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, secrets)

• Implement and manage GitHub Advanced Security

• Manage secrets and configuration securely (Azure Key Vault)

• Design deployment strategies (blue-green, canary, zero-downtime)

• Build automated rollback capabilities

• Maintain CI/CD pipeline standards and reusable templates

• Migrate pipelines from Azure DevOps to GitHub Actions

• Maintain visibility of all pipelines and integrations

Engineering Contribution (Non-Negotiable)

• Write code to automate infrastructure, pipelines, and operational tasks

• Build and maintain scripts, tools, and reusable automation frameworks

• Collaborate with developers to resolve build, deployment, and environment issues

• Contribute to code reviews, testing, and engineering standards

• Continuously improve platform reliability, performance, and scalability

If it’s manual, then you automate it.


If it breaks, then you fix it in code.

What You Bring

• 5+ years experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or similar roles

• Proven ownership of CI/CD pipelines in production environments

• Strong experience with GitHub Actions (or Azure DevOps with transition readiness)

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)

• Deep understanding of Azure services (compute, networking, security)

• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, CLI tools)

• Understanding of .NET build and deployment processes

• Strong mindset around automation, reliability, and security

Education

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

Advantageous:

• Certifications in DevOps, cloud platforms, or infrastructure automation (Azure preferred)

• Equivalent practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud platforms will be considered.

Nice to Have

• GitHub Advanced Security experience or certification

• Kubernetes / AKS experience

• GitOps practices (Flux, ArgoCD)

• Experience migrating from Azure DevOps to GitHub

• Security certifications (e.g. AZ-500)
