Requirements: - A relevant three-year tertiary qualification
- Eight (8) or more years of managerial experience, preferably in local government, public participation, or related fields
- Strong knowledge of legislative frameworks, policy development, and public participation processes.
Key performance areas: - Lead the preparation, implementation, and review of the City’s Public Participation Policy
- Provide strategic advisory services on trends, legislation, and best practices in public participation
- Oversee the development and management of sub councils and ward participatory mechanisms
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (MFMA, Access to Information Act)
- Guide and direct the preparation of capital and operating estimates and control expenditure against approved budget allocation
- Direct, manage, and optimise human resources within the Public Participation Unit
- Implement strategic programmes that promote meaningful engagement between the City and its communities
- Ensure the co-ordination, development and implementation of crosscutting special projects in accordance to organisational objectives and IDP
- Develop systems, processes, and quality management frameworks for effective service delivery
- Develop and maintain a Strategic Risk Management Framework for the City's public participation process.
